How we verify information
Last updated
Moving to a new country is hard enough without wrong information. This page explains how we write and check every guide on 4Livo.
Our promise
- Official sources first. Facts about immigration, taxes, health care, documents and benefits come from official sources — for example USCIS, the U.S. Department of State, the IRS, the Social Security Administration and HealthCare.gov — or from established public institutions. We link to the source next to the information it supports.
- Every guide is dated. Each guide shows when it was last checked against the official sources and when it is due for its next review. Rules change; when they do, we update the guide and record the change at the bottom of the page.
- Information, not advice. Our guides explain how things generally work. They are not legal, tax or medical advice and cannot tell you what applies to your specific case. For that, talk to a licensed attorney or a representative accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice, a qualified tax professional, or a health care provider.
- No “notarios”. We never recommend notarios públicos, consultants or anyone else who is not authorized to give immigration legal advice. We point to official lists of authorized help.
- No hidden ads in important guides. Guides about immigration status, taxes and health do not contain paid placements.
How a guide is made
- We choose a topic from the real questions newcomers ask, and we check that we don’t already have a guide that covers it.
- We research official sources and save every source with the date we read it.
- We write a draft in plain English. AI tools help us research, write and check our guides: every source is opened and cited next to the claim it supports, and AI tools never publish anything on their own.
- We check the key facts again — deadlines, amounts, phone numbers and rules — against the linked official source. These checks are done with the help of AI tools. Elvis Chiribuca, who runs 4Livo, sets the rules for this process and decides what is published.
- We review guides on a schedule — more often for topics where rules change frequently — and whenever we learn that something has changed. Elvis Chiribuca does these reviews against the official sources, with the help of AI tools. If a guide passes its review date before it has been reviewed, a notice at the top of the guide says so.
If you find a mistake
Please tell us at contact@4livo.com. We will check it against the official source, correct the guide and note the change and the date at the bottom of the page. Our corrections policy has the details.
